Editorial policy
Our aim is to make policy concepts understandable while being careful about what a general explanation can and cannot establish. We distinguish explanation from advocacy and make corrections when we find an error.
Accuracy and scope
We check that explanations use terms consistently, distinguish proposals from decisions and avoid implying that an intended outcome is guaranteed. Articles are general information, not professional, legal, financial or jurisdiction-specific advice. When a topic depends on a place, date or official process, we make that limitation clear.
Independence
Editorial choices are guided by relevance and clarity. We do not promise coverage in exchange for payment or a partnership. A partner cannot determine our conclusions or require an editorial endorsement.
Corrections
If you spot an error or an unclear passage, contact us with the article title and the point at issue. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or collaborative material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, they are identified as illustrative and are not presented as documentary evidence.
Policy is a chain of choices
A proposal is more than its stated aim. We look at the problem, the instrument, the trade-offs and the path from decision to delivery.
